Na Gestão Ágil, o trabalho é dividido em várias etapas (sprints ou iterações), cada uma delas com uma série de funcionalidades a serem desenvolvidas (features).

Cada iteração deve ser encerrada no prazo estipulado, não importa se todas as funcionalidades foram concluídas ou não. As funcionalidades não concluídas em uma iteração devem ser concluídas na próxima, entrando em uma lista de pendências (backlog).

When there are remaining features added to the backlog at the end of the sprint, this is known as snowplowing.
Snowplowing is more likely at the end of the first sprints, when estimates to match team productivity are being performed.
