  • 1 - What is Mobile? Mobile is an application developed by for use on mobile devices. The purpose of Mobile is to provide translators, translation companies, and others in the language industry with a tool they can use to get the most out of anytime, anywhere.

  • 2 - What is the difference between the app and the website?

    While the website is a web portal that runs directly on any browser, including the browser on your mobile device, Mobile is a native app that can be downloaded and installed on your compatible mobile device. Both the app and the website allow you to browse jobs, submit job quotes, search for translated terms, participate in KudoZ, polls and forums directly from your mobile device.

  • 3 - How much does Mobile cost? Mobile is being provided as a service to users. However, some Mobile features are available to paying members only:


  • 4 - What platforms support the Mobile app? Mobile is supported on Android devices running any of the following OS versions:

    • Android 4.1–4.3.1 (Jelly Bean)
    • Android 4.4–4.4.4 (KitKat)
    • Android 5.0–5.1.1 (Lollipop)
    • Android 6.0–6.0.1 (Marshmallow)
    • Android 7.0 - 7.1.2 (Nougat)
    • Android 8.0 (Android O 3​)

    And on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices running iOS 8.0 or later.

  • 5 - Is Mobile available in all countries?

    Yes, the app is available in every country through Google Play (Android) and the App Store (iOS).

  • 6 - Is Mobile secure?

    Yes. Just as in the website, critical information is encrypted (for more information, please check the privacy policy). However, keep in mind that mobile devices do offer you the ability to store your login information for apps installed on the device. If you choose to store your login information, any person who has access to your mobile device can access your account.

  • 7 - What services does Mobile include? Mobile has the following services available:

  • 8 - How can I choose which notifications I get on my mobile device?

    To set your Mobile notification preferences, open the app and go to "Notifications" from the sliding sidebar (hamburger) menu. This will open the Notifications center and the option to turn app notifications on and off for each service:


  • 9 - Where can I download the official Mobile app? Mobile for devices running on Android is available on Google Play. Mobile for devices running on iOS can be downloaded through the App Store in your device or via iTunes.

  • 10 - Are you planning to release Mobile for other operating systems?

    For the time being, Mobile is only compatible with Android and iOS. In the future, other operating systems may be considered depending on user feedback and needs.

  • 11 - How often is the information I see on Mobile updated?

    The information you see in the app is updated in real-time, so it's always up-to-date. However, if you keep the app open for an extended period of time, you should refresh pages to ensure the information is still current.

  • 12 - Do I have to create a new account to use the app?

    No. Mobile is the native app version of and not a separate site or service. To access your account through Mobile, simply use your standard login and password.

  • 13 - Can I login to my account with social network credentials?

    Yes. You can access your account using your regular username and password, or your Facebook, LinkedIn or Google credentials:

    Important: to be able to login to with Google, Facebook or LinkedIn, one of these conditions must be met:

  • Your Facebook / LinkedIn / Gmail email address matches your email address.
  • Your is linked to your Facebook / LinkedIn account (to associate your account with your Facebook and LinkedIn accounts click here.

  • 14 - What are the advantages of social login in Mobile?

    Just as in the web, social login helps to makes the access process easier and faster. A single login for two or more services means less details to remember!

    In mobile, Facebook and LinkedIn access also enable quick social functionalities such as commenting or content sharing through the app.

  • 15 - Can I disable social login in Mobile?

    Yes. To disable social login, simply logout of the app and login again using your username and password as you would normally do.

  • 16 - Can I manage my account from the app?

    For now, Mobile users cannot update profile information via the app. This option may be available in future app releases though. Stay Tuned!

  • 17 - How do I rate or review the app?

    To rate Mobile for Android, visit the Google Play store. To rate Mobile for iOS, visit the App Store.

  • 18 - I need help downloading/installing/using Mobile. Who should I contact?

    To receive help downloading/installing/using Mobile, please contact site staff through the support center.

  • 19 - I am not getting push notifications in my device. What should I do?

    If you are not receiving Mobile notifications in your device, follow these steps:

    1. Confirm that you have the latest version of Mobile installed in your device:

    2. Confirm that Mobile notifications are "On" by going to "Notifications" → gear icon on top, right corner → Display message notifications in status bar.

    3. Confirm that notifications for the service for which you want to be notified are "On", and that you have chosen the corresponding notification type (immediate alert or daily digest).

    4. Confirm that your device settings are allowing app notifications. This settings is commonly available in the "Settings" screen of your device (Settings --> Notifications --> Mobile).

    5. Since mobile users are not expected to be notified of every post made, confirm that there are jobs, KudoZ questions, forum posts, etc. matching the following criteria for generating mobile push notifications:

      • Jobs: notifications will be generated only when a job is posted in your language pair(s) and field(s), with an offered rate above your minimums, and where you meet the job quoting criteria.
      • ​KudoZ: notifications will be generated only when a new KudoZ question is posted in your language pair(s) and field(s).
      • ​Forums: notifications will be generated only when a new reply is posted to one of your forum topics.
      • Quick polls: notifications will be generated only when a new quick poll becomes available.
      • Contests: notifications will be generated only when a new contest becomes available.
      • WIWO: notifications will be generated only when ​a new “what I’m working on” post is made in your language pair(s) and field(s), and contains at least 40 characters.
      • Priority messages: notifications will be generated only when a member send you a priority message.

    If all of the above is checked, but you are still not receiving notifications, please submit a support request.
