English term

we drive off 'in our lives'

English to Spanish Social Sciences Religion Book for Sunday School teachers
Stealing from God
Worst of all, we steal from God (Mal 3.8). He made us and loves us and is entitled by right to our gratitude and obedience. If we withhold these, we are keeping back something to which God is entitled. We steal our lives from God, for we belong to Him by right, and not to ourselves. Like someone who steals a car for pleasure, ***we drive off 'in our lives'***, and live for our own personal pleasure. We enjoy God's creation, indulge ourselves, and do not stop to acknowledge His existence, or thank Him, or serve Him. One day He will claim back our life. Ask the class if they will be caught out as thieves on that day.

"drive off" means the same as "drive away" - aquí con el sentido de "abondonar" a Dios
