@ Barbara Tricky question! https://www.proz.com/search/"Rector". Have a look. None of the usual suspects seem to fit with the context of a Civil Registry. Regards.
Barbara Cochran, MFA Jul 14, 2022:
I saw that the Spanish term in question, Rectora General, is kept in the original Spanish in several English-language sentences translated from the Spanish on linguee.com. But there was no example in any other sentences in that glossary that gave an example of the term that reflects the context of this asker's question. I did, however, find a passage in Google Books that describes how the parish rector officiates over the weddings of couples, which is then recorded at the appropriate office of vital statistics/civil registry.

Ya lo borré por lo mismo; Ya sé que "Ciudadan@" no se pone.
Gracias.
Juan Jacob Jul 14, 2022:
Olvídate del C. (Ciudadano/a), para empezar. Y no es conveniente publicar ese original, es privado. Suerte.

I am assuming you are asking about "C." https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/law-taxation-c... Ciudadana

Directora General del Registro Civil

Director-general of the civil register, or however you want to translate it.

This appears to be a typo, which is unusual on a marriage certificate. Here she is - there's even a picture of her.

Marian Martínez Rodríguez fue nombrada directora general del Registro Civil.
