Finnish term

kitakorkeus

Finnish to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering concerning a deep draw press
SYVÄVETOTEKNIIKKA ON TÄRKEIN MENETELMÄMME
Syvävetotekniikan vahvuus on tuotteen erittäin tasainen pinta, mittatarkkuus sekä edullinen hinta suurissa sarjoissa. Käytössämme on kaksi syvävetopuristinta, joista suuremmassa on puristusvoimaa 750 tonnia, työpöydän mitat 2500 mm x 1400 mm ja kitakorkeus 1400 mm.

I understand what kitakorkeus is, I am looking for the correct term in English for it. Thanks.

Without being an expert I would guess that drawing benches have chucks moe often than jaws.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to all of you for helping me. I think both of these answers are right, but specifically for a deep drawing press, I chose this answer. Admittedly, I had to find out what a "chuck" was and I did find that deep drawing presses use "chucks" with a certain number of "jaws" to hold the metal, however, these jaws are not like the jaws on a clamp or a vice. I concluded that "jaw height" is applicable for smaller mechanisms, such as clamps and vices, while for a very large mechanism as a deep drawing press, "opening height" is applicable. This was also confirmed in searches where I couldn't find "jaw height" used, but "opening height" used for deep drawing presses and "jaw height" for vices and clamps. Thanks again."
