Τώρα συζητάμε για το πως αποδίδεται σωστά το "αισθητικής" ή για το αν ταιριάζει ο όρος "σύγχρονης αισθητικής" σε ένα οινοποιείο-οινοπωλείο; Γιατί ο συγγραφέας αυτό ήθελε και αυτό έγραψε, δεν θα το αλλάξω εγώ.

I agree with M. Phili. I indicated that out in the beginning. One can say that, the buildings of Zaha Hadid have aesthetic appeal, The Parthenon has aesthetic appeal, a beautiful item, as an art, has aesthetic appeal. The Gugenheim Museum has, as a building, aesthetic appeal. These things are artistically beautiful. However, I can hardly say that for a winery, that according to others, whether it makes or sells wine, or has a pleasing ambiance, that it has or is a 'modern aesthetically pleasing' place. And, this for Ellen Kraus. I can say that Karlskirche has an aesthetic appeal, but I cannot say that the winehouses of Grinzing, or the wineries of Burgenland, have an aesthetic modern appeal. They may have the ambiance, but aesthetic appeal, God forbid.

Να προσθέσω κι εγώ ότι συμφωνώ με τη συνάδελφο M. Phili. Έτσι που είναι το aesthetics στο γλωσσάρι, αφορά αρχές και φιλοσοφία — και από κάπου περιμένεις να ξεπεταχτεί ο Αντόρνο. :-)

M. Phili τελικά χρησιμοποίησα το περιφραστικό " in the modern, aesthetically appealing ambiance of Gianny´s winery", γιατί δεν ήμουν σίγουρη αν θα μετέφερα σωστά το "αισθητικής"

@transphy. my remarks are not due to confusing two terms. The wine-growing business i.e. producing wines, wine tasting and selling it - everything occurs in the winery. Not unfrequently the wine growers dispose of a wine museum attached to the winery whose owner as a rule sets much store by an attractive ambiance. "Aesthetically pleasing" - strictly speaking - is nothing but a synonym of "beautiful "

@Ellen Kraus:- I think you are confusing, 'οινοποιείο' and 'οινοπωλείο'. I may be wrong, and ignore, 'that country's preferences', but in my mind a 'winery' (οινοποιείο') is a place where they make the wine and not where they sell it. It could be that in Greece they make it/sell it in the same place. I don't know, it's not evident from the text. The 'asked' is 'οινοποιείο'.

@transphy, pls. let me observe that a winery is a space too, just like any other shop which earns the term "aesthetically pleasing"; besides the original text seems to be a Greek one and that´s why I particularly plead for not ignoring this country´s preference for seeing their ambiance, places etc. described as aesthetically pleasing.

"aesthetically pleasing" environment, rooms, space, colours etc.etc. (Ellen)
But....a winery??!!!
Collin's English Dictionary:- 'aesthetic'...relating to the appreciation of art and beauty.
'Trendy' reflects the fashionable habit of the time, the 'in-thing'. It is a concept, not just a good looking place. It is in harmony with the vineyard. It reflects the effort put in the vineyard and the winery to produce a nice wine.....

you may be surprised as to the multitude of examples existing for "aesthetically pleasing" environment, rooms, space, colours etc.etc. which coincides by the way with my second suggestion, i.e.
"aesthetically appealing " I am not among those who advocate for "modern, trendy and similar words.

However, "modern aesthetic" could still be an option.
Some examples of its usage:
(from design-milk.com): "The hotel's modern aesthetic provides an intimate and serene locale..."
(from dwell.com): A Renovated Tribeca Loft with a Modern Aesthetic

'aesthetic' is not used in English as in Greek. An English person will say, 'trendy, fashionable. chic'. I suggest you leave that out. I, myself would say,
' To get to know the Cretan vineyard, as one would see(or, 'get the feel')from his modern and trendy winery''

More context would be useful (what precedes the sentence).. but here's an idea: "at Yianni's winery, a place/building/setting of modern aesthetic..." or "a place boasting a modern aesthetic" or "with a modern aesthetic feel/design".
