Apologies for not making myself clear. The text Im working on is written by an architect dealing with open space appropriation and private or/and public functions. - are public, in the sense of agora, and private property. At this point I was looking for a somewhat neutral term as of a structure but on second thought I dont think it really matters since the word appears in a piece of text taken from a diary. Thanks for your help guys!

Pleasure. Not sure why you're trying to avoid "stalls" (as a single word), but glad "market stalls" fits. There's also "market stands", or even something along the lines of "vending stalls".
Non-ProZ.com Mar 20, 2005:
Thanks Elena. "stalls" (as a single word) is what I'm trying to avoid here. I'm looking for a word that signifies " " as a building-structure. "market stalls" is ok I think

Stalls, usually no more than a makeshift table with a hand-written price list, have opened for business close to Camden Lock. Some are understood to be breaking trading standards rules.
