As Executive Director of XXXX, located at XXXX, with whom XXXX is presently employed, I submit the following information:
1. XXXX has been our employee since April, 2009; however her current employment situation is tenuous because of her missed work due to her surgeries, and she will likely lose her job if she has to miss more time at her place of employment. That job is XXXX sole source of income. Because of the local economic situation and rate of unemployment, XXXX chances for obtaining a new job are very remote.
2. We are fully cognizant that XXXX’s financial situation is very weak and she can barely afford her regular household expenses as well as her daughter XXXX’s apartment expenses (for which XXXX pays the rent, utilities, and regular household expenses, including food and clothing for her daughter). We are also informed that she has not received any support or maintenance payments for her daughter XXXX from the father, XXXX, or any one else, although we understand that there is an outstanding Italian Court Order which directs support payments. The enclosed financial document identifies her salary for last year (2011). Documentation of her monthly expenses were provided previously to you. It is clear that XXXX’s financial status prohibits her from a trip to Italy for court appearances, let alone further loss of time from her employment.
3. As far as XXXX’s medical condition, we have information and know the following: XXXX has had five surgeries on her nose for damages that occurred as a result of the alleged physical abuse by her husband in Italy. She received a fractured nose and she has had significant bleeding and breathing problems because of it. Her last surgery was performed on February 15, 2012 by XXXX (see attached physician’s note). To insure that XXXX heals correctly, her physician limited her activities to avoid increased blood pressure which could affect or exacerbate the surgical site and incisions and have a negative affect on her healing. She is still under her physician’s care for post-operative evaluation. We have previously provided all of her other hospital medical records and surgical notes to you that related to the injuries incurred by XXXX because of her beatings in Italy. In addition to her financial incapacities, XXXX’s physical and emotional status precludes her ability to attend court appearances.
4. We must lastly advise that we have in the past made considerable loans to XXXX in order to meet her financial obligations. Unfortunately, further loans are not only improbable, but impossible.
In summary, it is submitted that XXXX cannot proceed to make court appearances in Italy due to present employment obligations, health issues, and financial conditions, all of which issues are beyond her control.

Ha il naso fratturato e ha avuto notevoli problemi di sanguinamento e di respirazione a causa di questo. L'ultimo intervento chirurgico e' stato eseguito il 15 febbraio 2012 dal dott. XXXX (vedere nota del medico in allegato). Per assicurare che la signora XXXX guarisca correttamente, il suo medico ha limitato le sue attività per evitare un aumento della pressione sanguigna che potrebbe influenzare o aggravare le condizioni della parte operata e le relative incisioni, con un effetto negativo sulla sua guarigione. Rimane ancora sotto le cure del medico per una valutazione post-operativa. Le abbiamo già in precedenza presentato tutte le sue cartelle cliniche di altri medici e chirurghi relative alle lesioni subite dalla signora XXXX a causa delle percosse ricevute in Italia. Oltre alle sue ristrettezze finanziarie, lo stato fisico ed emotivo di XXXX le preclude di partecipare ad udienze giudiziarie.
4. Dobbiamo infine informarLa che abbiamo dovuto in passato effettuare dei prestiti considerevoli a XXXX al fine di consentirle di soddisfare i suoi obblighi finanziari. Purtroppo, ulteriori prestiti non solo sono improbabili, ma anche impossibili.
In sintesi, si sostiene che XXXX non abbia modo di comparire in tribunale in Italia a causa degli obblighi lavorativi, problemi di salute, e le condizioni finanziarie, tutti problemi fuori dal suo controllo.
