Hi Guys: I am trying to load an excel file into Trados 2014. However, I keep getting these two warnings.

"Pre-Scanning Error: This file was not created by supported version of Microsoft Excel and will not be processed."

Furthermore, I have tried with multiple copies of the same document (various versions of Excel) but it doesn't want to cooperate. Moreover, Excel is a file option that I have switched on in the project settings. Any ideas? ▲ Collapse

Try saving your file in a different version of Excel, say 97-03.

Like which version of excel?
I encountered the same problem, but with Word 2003, studio doesn't accept it, so I save it as 2007, and all problems are solved.
Might also be that your file is corrupted someway, or your Studio is not set for excel (????).
Like I said, need more info.

Google docs
Jun 10, 2016
I've often found that loading a document to Google docs, and saving it back solves problems like these (unrecognized file types, unknown features, etc.). Uploading and opening the file on Google docs seems to strip it of any unknown issues and reverts the file back to a normal recognizable format.
Good luck, Geert
