Today I received an Early Bird Offer from SDL Trados to buy the new release of SLD Trados 2006
I just had a quick glance at the product features, and it seems the new working environment for Word documents will be the SDL editor. Does this mean, that working directly in Word will no longer be possible?

Well, I don't see the point of this option. Translating Word files in TagEditor, that's what I have already been doing with Trados 7.

If I understand their e-mail correctly, they have combined Trados and SDLX features into one application suite.
My guess is that they will abandon Word support (i.e. working from inside Word), and that you will have the choice between TagEditor or SDLX Editor.
Though I am not sure I interpreted their e-mail correctly.
