Word E-mail menu bar appears with Trados segment as attachment file

Word 2000, Office 2000, Trados 5.5.
The strangest thing I've ever seen. I'm translating a *.doc file in Word using Trados. All goes fine except when I select the first line of a list. Then the Word e-mail menu bar appears above the document with the segment in a separate file as an attachment and Trados locks up! So, I've replaced the Word Normal.dot and the Trados macro to no avail. Help!
