JapanOsakaIn personEnglish
The time has come for this years first Osaka/Kansai Powwow.

This is the 4th Powwow and I am looking forward to getting in a few fresh faces, getting to know each other better and having a few speeches by our esteemed colleagues. Then we can blow off a little steam and all will be right with the world.

Here are the nuts and bolts.

When:
Saturday, February 6
14:30-17:00 - Educational and business activities
30 minute presentations followed by 15 minute Q&A sessions
- The perspective of the in-house translator (Paul Makino)
- Added value in translation (David Eunice)
17:30-19:00 - Informal socializing
- I reserved a local Yakitori place for us.

Where:
Shin Fukushima Ward Hall, Meeting Room 303
Check their website here or view the Google Map.

How much:
- 300 yen in exact change. Any accidental profits would be donated fully to the social mixer.
-

Here is what you'll need to know.
Bring your business cards (20-25).

Thanks for a great Powwow Feb 10, 2010

I would just like to echo some of the other comments and also thank Paul and David for a couple of very educational presentations. (It was reassuring to hear that some end clients understand the need for TM management, even if many agencies in Japan do not.)

Thanks for the organizational energy and to everyone for coming Feb 17, 2010

Thanks Tom and everyone else who came.

I was surprised to see so many people there. I really enjoyed Paul\'s presentation, and it was very stimulating
to make my own presentation, which forced me to clarify
my own ideas. During the presentation, I made some new
discoveries and learnt from the Q&A sessions.

Thanks to Tom (and Proz) for making it possible,
and to everyone who ventured outside and then
spent time inside on fine winter\'s day.... See more
