I am a CIOL-certified freelance translator. I translate from English, Lithuanian, and Russian into English and Russian. I have 14 years' experience in translation preceded (with some overlap) by 6 years' experience in university-level teaching and research.
I hold a diploma in Translation (IoLET Diploma in Translation (DipTrans), English-Russian) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science. I am a Member (MCIL) of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL), one of the UK's leading professional organizations for translators.
I was born and raised in Lithuania, in a Russian-speaking family. In 2000, I moved to Denmark, then to Italy in 2005, before finally settling in the UK in 2010. I also spent a year living and studying in the US. Thus, my mother tongue is Russian, my second language is Lithuanian, and English is my language of habitual use: I have been using English extensively for over 20 years now, both at work and at home.
