チリに生まれ、コロンビアのブリティッシュスクールを経てアメリカのビジネススクールに留学し、その時期に現在の企画関係者と友人関係を持つようになる。ニューヨーク大学のＬａｗ ｓｃｈｏｏｌを卒業した今は弁護士を本業として活動しているが、音楽や絵画にも精通しており、行動範囲が幅広く、多くの人に自然と愛される。そんな彼を中心にパーソナルなコレクションを展開しようといったところから、２００６年夏にブランドALEJANDRO Jr.が発足。メンバーは写真家、哲学家、音楽家、アーティストと多方面から形成されており、Alejandro自身を含め、それぞれが本業の傍ら楽しみながら（時には苦しみながら）コレクションの企画をしている。

Translation - English Alejandro Vargas:
Born in Chile, he studied abroad at an American business school via a British school in Colombia. At that time he came to make business contacts and friendships with planners with whom he is still in contact today. He graduated from New York University Law School and is now primarily practicing as a lawyer, but he is also well versed in music and painting. He is interested in broadening his horizons, and is naturally loved by many people. The “Alejandro Jr.” brand was established in summer 2006, based on the concept of trying to develop a personal collection with the central figure being Alejandro. It is formed of members from many backgrounds including photographers, philosophers, musicians, artists and Alejandro himself. These colleagues, whilst having fun (and sometimes whilst suffering) are putting together a plan for this collection.
Year 2008:
I felt that I should start doing something, while already doing what little I could, to make infants’ lives safe and give peace of mind to children. Adults are creating a depraved society of strife, hunger, sex, poverty, and AIDS, which leads to there being many unhappy children. I wanted the children to be protected from these harsh conditions. Children do not lose hope, because their life force is strong. Anne Frank, for example, didn’t lose her hopes and ideals in those kinds of conditions. Because of this, after a while she soon got to know strangers, and these people she met soon extended a hand out to her; this is the kind of society that we must have. If people around the world are shown motherly love then all wars will soon die out. I really think this can happen. Our children are on the battlefield, probably without any mother figure. I want the children of the world to be happy.
Sleeping baby:
I believe that a baby’s sleeping face is something that should be completely protected by all of us. I wonder if from when they are born up until they are several month old children that it is preferable for God to be close to this type of world’s people. Perhaps like Buddha’s sleeping face, or even in Christianity where angels are seen as babies. Even now, I have the sleeping face of Chii (my child who will be three this year), when she had only just been born, as my call waiting picture.
Cacao:
Chocolate is abundant in our local area. High quality chocolate is also popular. You could just about say that it is a symbol of wealth. But actually, children who are working on the plantation do not seem to know anything about chocolate or what this means in reality.
Pirates:
A long time ago, I wanted to become a pirate. There was a time when I dreamed about becoming a pirate and going off on adventures on the Seven Seas. At that time, I wanted to hold on to my imagination and that pure innocent feeling forever.
The Game of Life:
The roulette wheel turns and the piece moves round the board and this or that happens. I really liked “The Game of Life”. It lets you live the way you really want to.
