Source text - English Time to Reconsider Nuclear Energy?
You may find it rather surprising that I, as an environmentalist, am advocating the hitherto unthinkable, but I’m now becoming convinced that we need to re-open the debate on nuclear energy. I make this case because it’s now becoming clear that international attempts to limit greenhouse gas emissions have been singularly unsuccessful, both globally and at the national level here in Australia, so an openness to new approaches is needed. I also realise that the anti-nuclear movement in Australia has been very influential in having nuclear power plants prohibited by federal laws. On the other hand, of all the developed nations the fastest growth in carbon dioxide emissions per capita is occurring in Australia, largely because Australia is almost twice as dependent as the rest of the world on coal as a source of electricity for homes and industry. To my mind, this gives Australia a special responsibility to take definite action. I certainly agree that much more should be done in developing renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power, and Australia has at times been a leader in these fields, but the fact is that these power sources are intermittent, and difficult to develop on a really large scale. If we’re looking for a non-CO2-emitting energy source that can be harnessed on a large scale to replace fossil fuels, then – like it or not – nuclear energy is one of the few that meets these requirements, and Australia’s abundant stocks of uranium ore make a re-think even more imperative.

Source text - English As human beings we should be able to choose how we want to live our lives, including choosing how we want to die. Euthanasia in many countries is seen as unnatural, an act against nature, however, personally I see euthanasia in a different light. Euthanasia allows those who are terminally ill to decide how and when they leave this earth. In the process of researching this topic and formulating my response, I realised that I didn’t really know much about Euthanasia, so I set out to find some answers. The word euthanasia literally means good death and comes from the Greek word (eu-thanatos). The term "euthanasia was introduced in the modern Western language in 1605 however has ties dating back to 420 B.C. (BC). The concept of euthanasia has existed for thousands of years. Currently, in Australia, euthanasia is legal in every state except in the Northern Territory and New South Wales, However, legislation, promising assisted suicide in both the Northern Territory and New South Wales is to be discussed in parliament later this year. There are great things on the horizon for Australia and the subject of assisted suicide. Coming back to the concept of ‘a good death’ proposed by the Greeks. Each of us deserves the opportunity to choose what to do with our bodies, personally, I don’t see why someone who is suffering immensely from a degenerative disease doesn’t have the right to leave this world on their own terms, allowing them to decide when and how. If we really want to change the mindset surrounding death, we need to change the way we see it. Death must be seen as liberating, not as misery. Instead of mourning death with a funeral, where everyone is dressed in black, with heavy hearts and tears in our eyes. We must celebrate the life this person lived, and more importantly, we must stop seeing death as something to be avoided, as something to feared. Everyone will die; it cannot be avoided, and we don’t even know when it will happen. Death unites everyone. Giving someone the freedom to die is the most humane thing we can do. To conclude, I want to leave this question here, as a means to open our minds and reflect on the concept of death. If we stopped fearing death how would this change the world we live in and the way we approach life?

Secondo me ogni singola persona avrebbe dovuto l’opportunità di scegliere quando vuole morire. L’eutanasia in molti paesi è vista come un atto contro natura, però dal mio punto di vista, l’eutanasia è, invece, l’esatto contrario. Avere la possibilità di decidere quando e come moriamo è il dono più prezioso di sempre e negare a qualcuno questo, fa male alla natura umana. Mi sono reso conto che la mia conoscenza sull’argomento non era sufficiente, quindi, ho deciso di informarmi di più. La parola eutanasia letteralmente significa buona morte e viene dal greco (eu-thanatos). Il termine “euthanasia” è stato introdotto nella moderna lingua occidentale nel 1605, ma ha legami che risalgono al 420 a.C. (avanti cristo). Come si vede, il concetto di eutanasia esiste da migliaia di anni. Attualmente, in Australia, l’eutanasia è legale in ogni stato, tranne, che nel Territorio del Nord e il Nuovo Galles del sud, tuttavia, alla fine di quest’anno in parlamento sarà discussa la legislazione che promette il suicidio assistito sia nel Territorio del Nord che nel Nuovo Galles del Sud. Dobbiamo, invece, festeggiare la vita di questa persona e più importante, dobbiamo smettere di vedere la morte come qualcosa di male, come qualcosa di temere. La morte succederà a tutti, non si può evitarla e non sappiamo nemmeno quando accadrà. la morte unisce tutti. Dare qualcuno la libertà di morire è la cosa più umana che possiamo donare. In conclusione, Ti chiedo questo: se smettessimo di temere la morte come sarebbe il nostro mondo?

Source text - English Let me cut to the chase. I like the idea of a Life Coach and, to be honest, I’ve always liked it. The idea of being able to hire someone whose sole responsibility is to help you make your life better is pretty cool. I originally wanted to talk about this topic because I’ve always had in mind the idea of becoming a Life Coach, however, I wasn’t sure how the work would be viewed in the public eye. I feared the work would be seen as a joke, and I as a scammer, instead of a job that has the real possibility to help others. As previously mentioned, I like the idea of a "Life Coach" and in a sense I already live my life as such. I take care of myself, both physically, with the gym, and mentally, with meditation, I eat healthy and try to live life to the fullest. Having reflected on my life and my habits, I concluded that I could be a Life Coach and that I was basically already doing it in my daily life. Personally, I think to become a successful Life Coach you must focus on a specific topic, narrow your field of expertise, in a certain sense, and focus on a topic in particular. If I were to become a life coach, I would focus on two things in particular: Firstly, I would focus on meditation, and how you can use it to enrich your life, as it has worked for me. Secondly, I would focus on introducing physical activity in your daily life. Two things, at first glance, rather simple, however, in my opinion have the ability to really transform your life. Personally, I found that the combination meditation, combined with physical exercise were enough to help me deal with almost everything that life could throw my way. Meditation allows me to see situations from a different perspective, as if I were looking in on the situation. Physical exercise, especially the gym, helps me to de-stress and to feel fit and healthy and the release of endorphins felt after a workout aid in balancing the body and mind. Ultimately, the purpose of a life coach is to help the client discover the tools they need to improve their lives. Everyone is different, with different problems and concerns and a life coach should be able to offer solutions and advice that lead to a solution. A life coach doesn’t have all the answers but instead needs to have the ability to prepare their client for the unpredictability of life.

L’idea di poter assumere una persona in cui l’unica responsabilità è quella di aiutarti a migliorare la tua vita, è una figata. Originalmente volevo parlare di questo argomento perché avevo sempre in mente l’idea di diventare un Life Coach, però non ero sicuro di come sarebbe stato visto il lavoro agli occhi del pubblico. Temevo che il lavoro sarebbe stato visto come uno scherzo, ed io come un truffatore. Invece, di un lavoro che ha la possibilità di aiutare gli altri. Tornando all’argomento in sé, come ho detto prima mi piace l’idea di un “Life Coach” e in un certo senso vivo già la mia vita come tale. Prendo cura di me stesso, sia fiscalmente, con la palestra, che mentalmente, con la meditazione, mangio cibo sano e provo a vivere una vita piena. Quindi riflettendo sulla mia vita e sulle mie abitudini sono giunto alla conclusione che potrei essere un Life Coach e che praticamente lo stavo già facendo nella mia vita quotidiana. A mio parere, per diventare un Life Coach di successo ci si deve concentrare su un argomento specifico, stringere il campo in un certo senso e focalizzarsi su qualcosa di particolare. Se io dovessi diventare un life coach mi concentrerei su due cose in particolare: Per primo, sarebbe la meditazione e come si può usarla per arricchire la propria vita, come ha fatto con me, per secondo sarebbe l’introduzione di un programma di esercito fisico nella giornata quotidiana. Due cose, a prima vista, abbastanza banali, però secondo me, che hanno la capacità di trasformare la tua vita. Personalmente ho trovato che la combinazione di una pratica meditativa costante combinata con una forma di esercizio fisico sia stata abbastanza per aiutarmi ad affrontare quasi tutto ciò che la vita potrebbe darmi. La meditazione mi aiuta a vedere le situazioni con una prospettiva diversa, quasi se io fossi fuori dalla situazione guardando dentro. l’esercizio fisico, in particolare la palestra, mi aiuta, in primis a sfogare lo stress e mantenere una forma di fisico adeguata a vivere bene e secondariamente il rilascio delle endorfine sentite dopo un allenamento aiuta a mantenere l’omeostasi del corpo e della mente. Alla fin fine, lo scopo di un life coach è di aiutare il cliente a scoprire gli strumenti di cui ha bisogno, per migliorare la propria vita. Ogni persona è diversa, con problemi e preoccupazioni diversi e un life coach dovrebbe essere in grado di offrire soluzioni e consigli per trovare una soluzione. Un life coach non ha tutte le risposte ma ha invece l’abilità di preparare un cliente per tutto ciò che la vita potrebbe portargli.

What offence am I charged with?
The charge sheet will indicate to you which laws you are accused of breaking. This is usually prepared by the police and given to the magistrate. The preliminary brief of evidence can also give you more information about the alleged offence.
Summary or indictable offence?
The charge sheet tells you whether the prosecutor is charging you with a summary offence, (a minor criminal offence triable before a magistrate without a jury); or an indictable offence, (a more serious crime, triable by jury).
However, you can ask to have your case heard by a magistrate and in the absence of a jury even for an indictable offence. People often choose to do this because costs are lower, penalties may be less severe and cases are dealt with more quickly.
Do I agree with the charge?
It is not as simple as asking yourself, ‘Did I do it?’ For example, you may have done something wrong but you have a defence - i.e. a reason for your actions. You may also have been charged with more than one offence. In such cases, the prosecution may drop some of the charges, especially if you are willing to plead guilty to the rest of the charges.

Non è così semplice chiederti, l’ho fatto? Per esempio, forse hai fatto qualcosa di sbagliato però hai una difesa, i.e. una spiegazione per le tue azioni. Potresti anche essere stato accusato di più di un reato. In questi casi, l’accusa può fa cadere alcune delle accuse, soprattutto se sei disposto a dichiararti colpevole per le altre.
