In a hydrometallugical process leaching of a metal from an ore is carried out at a relatively low temperature, below about 200 C. Rate of reaction may be slow and will depend on the the nature of the phase containing the metal. For example under acidic oxidizing conditions copper is dissolved very much more rapidly from chalcocite, Cu2S, than it is from chalcopyrite, CuFeS2.
Therefore, in a hyrometallurgical process, the nature of the minerals present is important whereas when a copper sulphide concentrate is fed into a smelter this not the case. 		Translation - Korean

습식제련에서, 광석으로부터 금속을 뽑아내는 공정,즉, 리칭은 약200C 이하의 상대적으로 낮은 온도에서 이루어진다. 반응속도는 느린데, 광석에 포함된 추출 금속의 상(相)의 특성에 따라 달라지게된다. 예를듣어, 산성의 산화조건하에서는 구리는 찰코파이라이트, CuFeS2 에서 녹아추출 되는것 보다 찰코싸이트, Cu2S로 부터 추출될때 훨씬 더 빨리 녹아추출 된다.
그러므로, 습식제련공정에서는, 갖고있는 광물질의 특성이 중요하데, 용융로를 이용하여 농축 황화동에서 구리를 추출 하는것은 이 경우와 다르다.
