Good work, Joakim!
Is it possible to switch to the traditional black text on a white background?
Can Xoterm be assigned to the Finder's context menu?

1) The Finder's context menu? You mean as an application that opens .tmx files? No, not possible now, but an excellent idea.
2) No, currently the window is dark-mode only. I'll add a setting.
Installation | Oct 31, 2019 |
Hi Joakim,
Nice! I've installed it on my MBP (Core i7) with El Capitan (10.11). Unfortunately, it won't launch. Any idea why?

Jean-François, are you getting any error or crash messages?
Could you provide the log? (Xoterm-related entries in Console.app, which is called something else if you have French MacOSX.)
Crash report | Oct 31, 2019 |
I've mailed you the crash report.
Thanks

The deployment target should be 10.12, not 10.10 as on App Store.
Sorry about that... | | |

Issues fixed in 1.1.8, on App Store shortly.
Hans: That version adds "open in Finder" and customizable appearance.

1.1.9 adds HTML file export, so you can export TMX as a table.

I had a short glimpse at the application with a small TMX, and I liked it. Now importing a big TMX, over 10,000 TUs (334, MB). So far XoTerm spent over 24 hours to import it. Do I have to consider that as normal average time for import?
Setup: iMac, OSX Mojave, 32 GB RAM.

Xoterm uses Core Data, which is inherently slow when creating tens of thousands of objects. There's very little a programmer can do about that.
There will never be a Core Data based application that opens a 334 MB TMX file in a couple of seconds. That's too bad - parsing the XML file is very fast.
Just tried opening a bilingual 60 MB file with 224 000 TUs, took 55 minutes. (MacBook Pro 2014, Mojave 10.14.6)

Hi Joakim
thanks for your answer.
After importing the file since yesterday morning it now is "Reading" the file and progress is at about 50 %. Should be finished by tomorrow morning then. AAMOF, I don't have many of these big TMX files, but I was wondering...

After some profiling I reduced the opening time of the 60MB file from 55 minutes to 12 minutes.
There'll be an update within a week or two.

60 MB TMX file load time now reduced from 55 to 5 minutes.
The update should be on App Store in 24 hours.
