With this macro you can easily add term pairs to a tab-delimited text file (that can be opened, sorted etc. with Excel etc.).

  • Place the example file Terms.txt on your Desktop. Its structure matches the layout of the dialogue boxes in this macro.
  • Select the entry –Add a new term pair to add a new term pair.
  • Select the entry –Edit a term pair to activate editing of an existing term pair. (You have to enter/select the appropriate source ... See more

  • Or just type a source term, select the correct one and click OK to have the target term inserted into your editor.

Bonus: The structure of Terms.txt matches the order of the fields on the tab Preferences > Definitions in CafeTran Espresso. The file can be used as a CafeTran Espresso glossary, after changing:

I've just created version 2 of the Ultimate Term Tool macro:

Version 2 - 2022-02-01

  • Changed the path for Terms.txt to the UTT folder inside the Documents folder.
  • The macro checks for the presence of the UTT folder. If this folder doesn’t exist, the macro will create it.
  • The macro checks for the presence of the files ‘Clients.txt’, ‘Subjects.txt’ and ‘Terms.txt’ in the UTT folder. If these files don’t exist, the macro create... See more

  • Changed the path for Terms.txt to the UTT folder inside the Documents folder.
  • The macro checks for the presence of the UTT folder. If this folder doesn’t exist, the macro will create it.
  • The macro checks for the presence of the files ‘Clients.txt’, ‘Subjects.txt’ and ‘Terms.txt’ in the UTT folder. If these files don’t exist, the macro creates them and fills them with default values.
