Noise cancellation headphones Haria hasi duena: IanW (X)

Dear all,
I'm looking for a good set of "noise cancellation headphones" that will allow me to work in peace in an occasionally loud environment. It doesn't have to be used for music, just be comfortable and effective.
If anyone can suggest any model that they are happy with, I'd very much appreciate it.
Many thanks

I use a monaural headset (Audio .50 model) for skyping/DNS purposes and I find them very light and comfy.
I heard they have good reputation of quality, so you may check their website.

If you just want to shut out noise (you don't say exactly), there are these headphones with the "SIlencio" brand that are used by shooters. They just protect the ears.
They may or may not shut out the kind of noise you need to eliminate, they are designed to muffle the report of a gun but they do allow some hearing.
They are cheap, but if citizens do not have the right to bear arms in your country, I don't know how easily they may be found. | |

Thanks guys,
Henry, I just want to shut out background noise occasionally, for example when I'm trying to proof-read something difficult while my office partners are both on the phone.
I have a rather crude model that is used on building sites, but it's not great by any standards. I want to be able to hear as little noise as possible - I'm not interested in using it to listen to music.
Thanks
Ian

... a Sennheisser PC155 (USB) with noise cancelling AND a own Sound Card. So I can use it with my laptop too, normally laptops are no so good equipped.
I am happy with it, and I think cause I am not using the sound card in my PC I save resources for others issues.

Thanks Gillian,
The M1 (6-Punkt-Kapsel) was just what I was looking for. I did consider earplugs but am quite prone to ear infections, so decided against it. These are designed for wearing for hours on end, so that sounds like just the ticket.
Thanks to everyone else too
Ian

I have bought several successive headsets. They are improving a lot. This Plantronics is great, and foldable (handy when you travel). I have used it even in airports (with a loudspeaker in the background, from time to time!)... but I never save my data at the end of such a session !

There are other non-foldable Plantronics headsets, if you prefer comfort... ▲ Collapse | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Noise cancellation headphones Anycount & Translation Office 3000 | Translation Office 3000
