I am currently in localization business in UK, but I'm thinking I would like to be qualified properly as a translator as I have only a degree in English Literature. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Tatiana is absolutely right abou the IoL and this is supplementary. The University of Westminster offers a course to prepare you for the exam (see http://www.wmin.ac.uk/page-1582-coursecode=5784 for further details).
