I have more than 200 smaller files (1 - 50 segments) for review. Is it possible to create it as one file and then split them afterwards? Opening one and one file is very timeconsuming...Thanks!

Hello Marianne,

memoQ can create a view which contains all these documents. However, you cannot split a view into subviews. So what you need to do is the following:

- Create a single view containing these documents (by selecting all of them and creating a view with the join files option).
- Export the view to MQXLZ file.
- Remove the view (this will of course not delete the individual documents). This is needed to import the MQXLZ as though it were a separat

This is needed to import the MQXLZ as though it were a separate document.
- Import the MQXLZ file which was created from the view.

The document will be imported under the Documents tab, so you can now split it into views for submitting to proofreaders, etc.

Once the individual views have been proofread and imported (if they were sent out to other people), you will need to save all the segments from the overall document to the TM (preferably a fresh one), clear translations in all small documents, create a single view of all small documents, and then pre-translate it from the TM.

Make sure to use 101% setting for pre-translation to make sure that repetitions with differing translations are translated correctly, and then finish the translation of the overall view as some segments will not be pre-translated because the borderline segments (i.e. segments coming from the beginning or end of small documents) will not have the same context as in the MQXLZ file.

Best regards,
Stanislav

Right-click on the files and choose "create view". The default view option is to join all files. Then go to the Views tab to open the view. They will be saved individually.
