There seems to be no option for your task out of the box, but you can use a regex-based operation. 1. Click the gear icon to check the 'Use regex' box. 2. Type ^(\d+),(\d+)\s(€)$ in the Source field and press Enter. 3. Press Ctrl+Shift+A to select all the filtered segments. 4. Copy source to target (Ctrl+Shift+S by default). 5. Press Ctrl+H and type the following regular expressions: Find what: (\d+),(\d+)\s(€) Replace with: $3$1,$2 6. C... Brilliant. That works perfectly. Thanks so much for your help! | | | Stepan Konev Russian Federation Local time: 18:30 English to Russian Replace , with . | Apr 4, 2023 |
Probably you could do it already, but just in case... I forgot to replace comma with dot. It must be $3$1.$2 in step 5. | | | Kathleen Misson Spain Local time: 17:30 Member (2009) Spanish to English TOPIC STARTER yes, I picked up on that | Apr 4, 2023 |
Many thanks, it will be very helpful. | | | There is an easier way to get it | Apr 10, 2023 |
If I may, there is an easier way to get it without using regex: Once your project is set up in accordance with your preferences (including your language pair), you just need to create from scratch (or use any existing) translation memory. One important set-up not to forget: in the "Resource console", select "Numbers-English-Group" in the "Auto-translation rules" tab. One important set-up not to forget: in the "Resource console", select "Numbers-English-Group" in the "Auto-translation rules" tab. Then, when you come to the first segment with currencies values inserted, simply apply manually the proper translation according to the target language: in your example, translate 17,50 € as €17.50 and confirm the segment. After confirmation, your TM will register - and therefore remember - the correction you've so applied. From that point, when navigating into every segment with another currency value inserted (even with a different amount), your TM will recognize the currency previously confirmed and will provide the right proposal adapted accordingly in the results field (top right window). For example, if (say) the value 178,81 € comes to a next segment, you will be offered the corresponding translation as €178.81 in your target language. In order to propagate the result to all following segments containing the same currency symbol, you also may apply the pre-translate function by selecting "pre-translation from my TM" (any machine translation must be unticked at this stage, although you may enable it at will afterwards). And it works like a charm: each segment containing any € value will be auto-translated with help of both your TM and memoQ automatic recognition system.
