The English source text is a sloppy, amateurish piece of writing. I wouldn't want to translate it professionally. Why would anyone do it for fun?

Well, it's a lot better than the Norwegian text, which reads like something from a village newsletter I wouldn't normally touch this kind of thing either, but I'm quite excited about finally getting a chance to compete, demonstrate my magnificence and be crowned the GOAT of GOATs. Except I won't. Judging from KudoZ, I imagine my pearls will be trampled to bits by the word-for-word mob. But let's wait and see. Maybe ChatGTP will win. My main objection is that the text is so loooooooooooooooooooooooooong, because I'm a busy boy. (I see, by the way, that someone has entered a translation into Middle English. Attempting the subvert the system are we?!)

Based on the entries so far, I think it is clear what translators think about this contest. Time to update the rules and make them transparent and fair, don't you think?
