Spanish term

recorrido de lectura

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Ophthalmology - visual acuity test
Este test mide simultáneamente la agudeza visual de cerca y la velocidad de lectura a cualquier distancia, es decir, el recorrido de lectura más cómodo para el paciente".

Thank you!

Does it mean "the amount of reading done"??

Following on from Alvaro I don't think it is implying a specific range but any range - ' that is to say the range at which the patient can read most comfortably'

agree moken : Hi Lorraine. Actually I fully agree with you - distance it is. Your suggestion hadn't appreared when I began to type my answer, so I only intended to clarify the meaning for Liz. After that I got caught up elsewhere. :O) :O)

reading segment/path/route

It's not the amount of reading, I believe it refers to the kind of segment whose reading is more confortable to the patient. Good luck.

No - range perhaps?

Hi Liz,

At a loss as what synonym you might use, but recorrido here means the same as distance - it is not the amount of reading, but the distance that's most comfortable for the person. I might suggest 'range' but of course, that wouldn't imply a single distance.

Perhaps someone else can help you nail a precise term.

good luck!

That's fine Liz. When I began typing Only Juliana's answer was visible so I just wanted to make sure that I got the message across re distance not amount.

Good luck and a huge smile!

Note from asker:
Thank you for clarifying the meaning of this term. I have stuck with "distance" as this seems to be the repetitive point of this text I am translating!
Peer comment(s):

agree Mariana Gozzarelli : Reading range is the best option for me too.

Thanks vm Mariana. IMHO, 'distance' is fine providing Liz finds a way to avoid making the text too repetitive. :O) :O)
