Bit of a guess: I'm thinking there's a contrast between the more formal structure of the jacket and the draping of the tunic underneath. And if you look up images of "structured jackets" it seems to cover quite a broad range of shapes, so it gives you a bit of flexibility...I assume you don't have a photo?
