Swedish term

Rastar hunden

Swedish to English Other Livestock / Animal Husbandry
What does this mean really? Is it just taking the dog for a walk or is it the act of letting the dog stop to have a shit? So what does "Rastning av hundar är förbjuden inom området" mean....that dog owners can walk their dogs in the area or that the dogs can't stop in the area to do the necessary?

Is probably the most common phrase in English.

The Swe 'rasta' has a double meaning, that is, taking your dog to get it out and moving, and also the polite (euphemistic) way to tell people not to let dogs 'uträtta sina behov' (another euphemism). I can say that in the US 'No dogs allowed" was what I grew up with, but the signs Allison shows could now be used. Still, euphemistic.
