Spanish term
Patojo sin paloma
Spanish to English
Other
General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
This appears in a letter written by a Nicaraguan woman. This phrase is used to describe a child:
"Empezó a tratarla con groserías, diciendo que era un patojo sin paloma, que prefería verla tortear que verla con un chile."
I know "patojo" can be used to mean "child", but I cannot find a meaning for "sin paloma". And I don't understand the meaning of the second half of the sentence about tortear vs. con un chile. Any insight would be helpful.

: But maybe something to convey the 'groserías'?

True, if it were a boy, I'd suggest something like 'your balls haven't dropped yet', but what's the equivalent for a girl?

: I beg to differ here, but "paloma" or "palomita" clearly refers to "penis." It has nothing to do with maturity or anything like that./Where did you get that meaning from?

Yes, "penis" is the literal meaning, but the figurative meaning here refers to immaturity//It has everything to do with maturity.

Speaker is addressing a girl (his daughter) an accusing her of being "a boy without a dick" (the "grosería") and going straight on to say he would rather she was gay than have anything to do with a "chile".

There's no need to use words like "dick" or "cock" to refer to penis here when there are a lot of other words that could be used to reflect the colorful register of the source. I hope you'll find my suggestion useful.
