Overview:
Public health organizations (PHOs) need to become informatics-savvy to seize the opportunities in
the digital age and improve patient and population health outcomes while optimizing resource
utilization. The Public Health Informatics Institute (PHII) developed the 'informatics-savvy health
organization' (ISHO) framework as an approach to help PHOs develop their digital health strategies
and capabilities through the application of the science of informatics. This workshop will introduce
participants to the IHSO framework and requirements for its implementation.
Learning objectives:
Participants will learn about the three core pillars of the ISHO framework, identify challenges and
strengths, and learn how to develop strategies and roadmaps for improving public health informatics
planning and capabilities at the national, sub-national, and site levels.
