Średnio rozumiem, za co - lub kiedy dokładnie - XYZ ponosi odpowiedzialność - słowo accrue wydaje się rozwiązaniem, bo nie jestem pewna, co oznacza w takim kontekście.
Klient nie zabezpieczył właściwie danych, doszło do ich utraty, XYZ próbuje je odzyskać i co?? Czegoś tu nie rozumiem... :(
Liability for loss of data is not in any way excluded under this SoW however, XYZ shall in the event of data losses only be liable for the typical effort to recover the data which would have accrued if Customer had appropriately backed up its data.

Przypuszczam, że accrued odnosi się do wysiłku (accrue an effort czyli expend an effort), który byłby wlożony w danym przypadku.

One way of reading this is that if the data are lost, the extent of XYZ's liability is equal to the effort necessary to recover the data from a back up copy. That is, XYZ is not responsible for reconstituting the data from scratch (from zero).
