In the first place, time-budget studies do not confirm the thesis that Americans are, on average, working longer than a generation ago. On the contrary, a new study by John Robinson and Geoffrey Godbey of the University of Maryland reports a five hour per week gain in free time for the average American between 1965 and 1985, due partly to reduced time spent on housework and partly to earlier retirement.

: Szerintem ez sokkal "aktívabb" jelentéstartalommal bír; ez inkább az idővel való gazdálkodást jelenti, míg az időmérleg inkább "történés" jellegű, azaz hogyan alakult az időbeosztás.

1. Igazad van, szószerint. Látom, egyetértés is van abban, hogy a time budget (én budgeting-et irnék) a jó. Nekem ez azért ugrott be, mert ez az, amiröl lépten-nyomon beszélnek.
