Romanian term

copil de tzatza

Romanian to English Art/Literary Folklore lucrare stiintifica
Am gasit varianta "child at suck", dar ma indoiesc sincer ca asta e echivalentul corect, avand in vedere ca nu il gasesc in contexte native.

P.S. Scuzati utilizarea lui "tz", dar am vrut sa se inteleaga termenul clar.

nurs(e)ling

e cel mai apropiat termen -- de dragul preciziei, puteti folosi si "breastfed baby" (depinde, evident, de context)

Nursing baby / breastfed baby

In general language using we would say "a nursing baby" to describe a baby that is still being nursed by its mother. There is not a modern day word really other than an expression such as this.
Most special words such as "suckling" are very outdated and stopped being used in modern day language a long time - although many texts obviously still exist using these words.
Example sentence:

"I nurse my 5 month old to sleep, and will continue to do so until she self-weans."

"There are a number of reasons why you may want your breastfed baby to take a bottle."

Peer comment(s):

neutral Annamaria Amik : Indeed, nursing/breastfed would be optimal for modern-day contexts, but the Romanian term is quite outdated/folkish, so suckling is best here.

neutral Cristina Moldovan do Amaral : de acord cu Annamaria. Copil de țâță este la fel de învechit ca și suckling. Nici măcar la țară nu cred că se mai folosește. Termenul modren este sugar.
