This is explaining a game show on TV:
'plateau TV avec l'animateur, les concurrents et *l'écran duplex* qui affiche le logo de l'émission'.
Could anybody please tell me the correct equivalent term in English? Thanks!

Note from asker:
Thank you, David - this is the kind of screen I'm talking about. It's not split. It's a screen on which the presenter and contestants of the game show can see somebody out on location elsewhere (and where the logo is displayed until the transmission from this location starts). I ended up using 'link up screen', which probably wasn't the best translation I have ever provided, but at least it communicates the idea! Live relay screen would also have worked well, so thanks for the suggestion!! |

: I thought about Spplit screen, but then found out that split screen means écran divisé. It would be right if écran divisé and écran duplex are the same

: Duplex technically means 2 way transmission and is used to refer to live links, outside broadcasts, etc. "Oui, on était en duplex de Los Angeles" The screen here shows the logo when not so used. Live relay screen??? It's not split (2 images) but what??!
