Portuguese term

Já começamos

Portuguese to English Art/Literary Cinema, Film, TV, Drama conversation
The whole sentence is 'Mau! Já começamos?'

The woman is saying something that is getting on his nerves. What would be the right expression for this?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Oh no! Not again? :-)
Richard Purdom Jan 21, 2015:
:-) okey dokey
Tania Pires (asker) Jan 21, 2015:
Richard I meant "exclamation mark". I didn't make the mistake of adding a "question mark" as I explained in my latest comment to your answer. :)
Richard Purdom Jan 21, 2015:
Tania, my answer is NOT a question, and you really shouldn't add a question mark to it. If you really want a question, use another suggestion.
Vitor Pinteus Jan 20, 2015:
For the whole sentence, maybe you can say: "We're starting bad already?"
vd link:
1. ("We're starting bad already?"): https://www.google.com/search?q=We're starting bad already?!...

Anyway, perhaps more context can help find the most appropriate expression.

You could use Katarina's suggestion if you wanted a question, but I reckon it's a rhetorical question so it wouldn't really matter!
Note from asker:
Thanks Richard. I like this one but it's for a subtitle and the person on the video says it in the form of a question. Won't it be confusing for the audience?
I ended up using this one with the question mark at the end.
I meant exclamation mark. I was reading my previous comment and wrote "question" instead of "exclamation".

Obrigado Lara. I think an exclamation mark makes it sound less as if the speaker is irritated.

Always my pleasure, Tania, when I get it right :)
Note from asker:
Thanks Katarina. This was the first option I thought about but it felt too obvious.

Here we go again!

This is to say that an unpleasant situation has occurred again and the people involved are unhappy about it!

We are restarting.

Going back to the same problem.

neutral Lara Barnett : This sounds a bit mechanical and without any flow of colloquial speech. This phrase would never be said in this way in this context in English.

Not again!

I was just about to agree with Richard when I saw your comment about the translation being a subtitle. The above is only 2 words long and would fit more with the Portuguese. The exclamation mark is obligatory to get across the sense of annoyance. Otherwise go with Richard.
Note from asker:
Thanks Marian, this is a good option too, but I think I'll go with Richard's choice. :)
Peer comment(s):

agree Nick Taylor : Could also be used with a question mark.
