This forum topic is for the discussion of the poll question "How much do you set aside, or usually spend, per year, for hardware related to your work?".
Probably the last time I will spend money on hardware.
My desktop computer is nearing the end of its life - still works fine, but updates will no longer be provided. But it is more than 10 years old, an I am not sure how old my previous laptop is/was. My son is revamping it completely for someone else to use!
The idea is that at some point I will go over to only using the new laptop.

This year I bought a laptop. EUR 900. But in other years my hardware costs related mostly to buying the odd external hard drive or flash drive, or replacement mouse or keyboard, so I usually do not spend more than EUR 300 per year.
