How does 4,50 US per minut sound for subtitling translation? What about subtitles translation editing?
Thanks
Nathalie

Just translation?

I mean, what do you have to do? Just overwrite a spotting list? 4.50 UDS per minute seems very fine to me x 100 minutes (more or less) = 450 bucks for a day's job. Or: no spotting list, no dialogue list, no Time In, no Time Out, no video support? What kind of picture, what pair of languages, what's the dead line? For DVD, 35 mm., video? Luck.

For editing you should try to have 1/2-2/3 of this rate, preferably 2/3 for editing and for proofreading 1/2. Kind regards.

Translating subtitles for a feature film takes me about 4 or 5 days on average. Writing dialogue and fitting it into the captions isn't as straightforward as it seems. 90 minutes in 4 1/2 days means roughly USD90 per day. Subtitle translation is paid badly anyway but between USD6.5 and 7.5 is more realistic. Otherwise don't bother.
